Do I love God? Deu 6:4-9

By Soon Yong

Love is a commitment to pleasing God.

What does it mean to love God?
The greatest command.

1 John 4:19
We love because he first loved us.

Think carefully about the words you say.

Deuteronomy 6:5
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

V7 repeat
Speak of the word of God
Poster them around
Put the commands in your view

We live in NT times
Still applies to us
It ought timo govern our homes

Mark 12:28-30
The Great Commandment
And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”
Jesus answered, “The most important is, Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

Are you in a state that you are willing to commit all the God?

John 14:15
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

Do we do this?

John 21:17
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.

John is now humble

If you remain proud. You can’t love God.
You can’t commit to God and remain high.
