Luke 17 pt 2

Urgency. The Lord will come like a theif in the night. 

​ the coming of the Lord. Not what the disciples expected. Not a chronological sequence. The day of the Lord will come at the end of the tribulation. We stand on the literal interpretation. Vv34-36 Has Jesus come yet? One could say that the Lord compresses these events in the future vv25. Zephaniah judgement, wonderful judgement. Vv37 the Lord has already come. Lot considered as selfish. 

Vv29.  Lot is not perfect yet God saves him. Grace. 

Luke 17:33  Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. 

Hand to the plough and looks back. Cannot serve two masters. 

Vv34-35. The ones left behind are the saved. It has the potential to divide families. The ones taken out are reserved for judgement.
